What to look for in an RV site

We are often asked “What should I look for in a prospective campground?” It really largely depends on the type of experience you want. If you like it wild, go off the beaten path totally, or if you want to keep the amenities at hand look for an RV Resort.

First, consider availability. It does not matter how great the RV campground is if there are no vacancies for your particular nights. Ask yourself if the recreational vehicle campground is close to your vacation destination, or is it off the beaten track? Also, what facilities or amenities are included for the cost of the campground? What hook-ups are available? Are they the reliable hook ups you need to get the services you require. Are they also able to accommodate your particular rig size? Class A, B, C. Some of the campgrounds don't have wide or large enough sites for the bigger RVs. It is recommended that you ask about size restraints ahead of time.

Ask yourself these questions: How do I decide what is right for me? Choose between RV parks and camping grounds. State campgrounds will offer the basic facilities. Then some campgrounds will not have these hook-ups, showers, or even flush toilets, however they will offer an unspoiled type of beauty of the outdoors that you might be hard pressed to get anywhere else. Also consider: RV Parks and campgrounds are campgrounds that will usually offer the type of flush toilets and communal showers, also some kind of swimming pool, pond, or lake perhaps . On the other hand, RV Resorts are also more expensive and then are great for people looking for a much higher end kind of RV camping. RV Resorts usually have a small store on site and amenities such as a small lounge, or maybe even a miniature golf course.

Make sure that you understand what you need in terms of safety and also amenities. Although RVing is a generally very fun and safe activity, be smart and know your needs. Also, don’t be afraid to ask around. Other RV enthusiast are a perfect place to start. But in the end, try to understand if you need a lot of extras, or if you prefer a real wild experience.
